Practically, its role is architectural: it anchors the OID namespace so subordinate VeloCloud MIB modules (covering edge inventory, overlay tunnel status, orchestrator health, and performance statistics) can register objects beneath it, meaning hardware/software status monitoring (edge uptime, tunnel state, throughput) is delivered by child modules that import this root rather than by this module directly. It is explicitly a dependency root for other VeloCloud-specific MIB modules and follows standard SNMPv2-SMI conventions for enterprise OID tree registration.
