Description: Manages Unisphere ERX IP subscriber profile templates for dynamic service provisioning.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Unisphere-Data-IP-PROFILE-MIB?
This MIB belongs to Unisphere Networks (later Juniper's ERX edge router line) and manages IP subscriber profile templates used for dynamic, per-subscriber service provisioning on broadband edge routers. It exposes configuration data such as IP address/mask assignments, router/VR name bindings, MTU settings, directed broadcast and ICMP redirect toggles, and access route and loopback interface associations for each profile. Its monitoring value is primarily around configuration/provisioning state—confirming a subscriber IP profile's row status (active, notReady, etc.), verifying profile parameters match intended service templates, and catching provisioning errors—rather than hardware health, since it is a software/service-layer MIB. It is specific to the Unisphere/ERX enterprise namespace and works alongside other ERX-specific MIBs for subscriber and VRF management. Typical deployment is on Unisphere/Juniper ERX edge routers used by broadband and ISP networks for subscriber IP service provisioning, typically obtained via a Unisphere-Data-IP-PROFILE-MIB download for loading into a MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-IP-PROFILE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Unisphere/Juniper ERX edge router
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll usdIpProfileTable, keyed by usdIpProfileId, to confirm a given profile's usdIpProfileRowStatus is active and that usdIpProfileIpAddr/usdIpProfileIpMask match the intended subscriber addressing scheme. Checking usdIpProfileRouterName and usdIpProfileLoopbackIfIndex verifies the profile is correctly bound to the right virtual router and loopback interface, while usdIpProfileMtu helps diagnose fragmentation issues on a subscriber circuit. A profile stuck in a non-active row status or with unexpected usdIpProfileAccessRoute values would signal a provisioning failure.
What Can Be Monitored
- IP profile row status
- assigned IP address/mask per profile
- MTU setting
- directed broadcast/ICMP redirect enablement
- router/loopback interface binding
