Description: Manages TP-Link switch dynamic ARP inspection policies, trusted ports, and binding validation.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TPLINK-ARP-INSPECTION-MIB?
TPLINK-ARP-INSPECTION-MIB is a private TP-Link enterprise MIB that manages Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI) on TP-Link managed switches, a security feature that validates ARP packets against a trusted IP-to-MAC binding table to prevent ARP spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks. It exposes configuration data covering DAI policies, designated trusted ports, and binding validation rules used to accept or reject ARP traffic on a per-port basis. As a security-feature status MIB, it is used in monitoring to verify the software configuration state of ARP inspection -- which ports are trusted, whether inspection is globally enabled, and whether binding validation is functioning as configured -- rather than to check hardware health. It commonly interoperates conceptually with DHCP snooping binding tables (a common prerequisite for dynamic ARP inspection) though no explicit MIB dependency is stated in the module description. It would be deployed on TP-Link managed switches in enterprise or campus access layers where DHCP snooping and dynamic ARP inspection are used together to harden the network against spoofing attacks. Engineers can download the TPLINK-ARP-INSPECTION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-ARP-INSPECTION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- TP-Link managed Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
No sample object names were provided, but based on the module's stated purpose an administrator would expect to poll a trusted-port configuration table and a binding-validation table to confirm ARP inspection policy is applied consistently, revealing any port where a binding mismatch is silently dropping legitimate ARP traffic or where trust has been misconfigured.
What Can Be Monitored
- ARP inspection global enable state
- trusted port list
- binding validation rule status
- per-port ARP inspection policy
