tnProvType
Module: TN-PROV-MIB
OID (symbolic): TN-PROV-MIB::tnProvType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.110.1.1.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Provision operation type: backup/download(1) : backup/download the configuration of the device. restore/upload(2) : restore/upload the configuration onto the device. saveStartupConfig(3) : copies running-config to startup-config, thereby ensuring that the currently active configuration will be used at the next reboot. activate(4) : It is possible to activate any of the configuration files present on the switch, except for running-config which represents the currently active configuration. delete(5) : It is possible to delete any of the writable files stored in flash, including startup-config. If this is done and the switch is rebooted without a prior Save operation, this effectively resets the switch to default configuration. running-config and default-config cannot be deleted.
What is tnProvType?
This integer selects which provisioning operation to perform against the device: backup/download(1), restore/upload(2), saveStartupConfig(3), activate(4), or delete(5). An admin sets this before triggering tnProvOper, and the meaning of the accompanying file-name objects changes depending on which operation is chosen, since activate(4) can bring any stored config file live except running-config. For example, setting this to delete(5) and then triggering the operation removes a specified flash file, which if done without a prior save can reset the switch to its default configuration on next reboot.
