tnEthSoamPeerFaultAlarm

Module: TN-ETHSOAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-ETHSOAM-MIB::tnEthSoamPeerFaultAlarm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.105.0.2

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: An EthSoamPeer has a persistent defect condition. A notification (fault alarm) is sent to the management entity with the OID of the EthSoamPeer that has detected the fault.

The management entity receiving the notification can identify the system from the network source address of the notification, and can identify the EthSoamPeer reporting the defect by the indices in the OID of the variables in the notification:

tnEthSoamInstance - Also the index of the EthSoam Peer status table entry (tnEthSoamPeerStatusTable).

tnEthSoamPeerStatusMepId - Also the index of the EthSoam Peer status table entry (tnEthSoamPeerStatusTable).

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' TN-ETHSOAM-MIB::tnEthSoamPeerFaultAlarm
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.105.0.2

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:56963->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (83984003) 9 days, 17:17:20.03
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: TN-ETHSOAM-MIB::tnEthSoamPeerFaultAlarm
