tnBfdAdminOwner

Module: TN-BFD-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-BFD-MIB::tnBfdAdminOwner

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.7483.6.1.2.85.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: Who has last initialized the administrative tables, who is making all the changes, and who is expected to either commit or re-initialize (ABORT-TRANSACTION).

tnBfdAdminOwner is advisory only. Before beginning a transaction, read tnBfdAdminOwner. If it is empty then proceed with the configuration. Set tnBfdAdminOwner after setting tnBfdAdminControlApply so that other users will be advised to not make changes to the Admin tables.

Agent sets tnBfdAdminOwner to empty string after tnBfdAdminControlApply is set - either by user initializing or committing, or by agent timing out the uncommitted transactions (tnBfdAdminLastSetTimer).

What is tnBfdAdminOwner?

This read-write DisplayString (0..32 chars) advisorily records who initialized the BFD administrative (working-copy) tables and is expected to either commit or abort the in-progress change transaction. Admins are expected to read this first before editing the admin BFD template tables, proceeding only if it's empty, and to set it themselves right after applying tnBfdAdminControlApply so other operators know changes are in progress. For example, an admin would set this to their own username like "jsmith" before editing tnBfdAdminTemplateTxInt, and the agent clears it back to empty once the transaction is committed or times out.
