Category: Network Management Infrastructure
Description: Manages TME network device SNMP v2 agent configuration and management parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TMESNMP2-MIB?
TMESNMP2-MIB is a compact, vendor-specific SNMP MIB for a "TME"-branded network device's SNMPv2 agent, exposing a small set of scalar objects for device identification and basic environmental monitoring rather than a full management model. It provides both a raw integer temperature reading and a formatted string version of the same value, alongside a device name string, plus a parallel "trap" (_t suffix) set of objects carried inside SNMP notifications. It is used specifically to monitor the hardware status of the device via temperature: the module description notes the integer value must be divided by 10 to get the real reading, and a warning trap fires when a threshold is crossed. No dependency on other standard MIBs is evident — this appears to be a minimal, self-contained legacy device MIB. It is typically deployed on small standalone network appliances needing only rudimentary environmental polling and threshold alerting via TMESNMP2-MIB SNMP queries.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TMESNMP2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- TME-branded small network appliance (specific manufacturer unclear from available data)
Monitoring Examples
A monitoring system polls int_temperature and divides the raw value by 10 to get the device's current internal temperature, cross-checking against string_temperature which provides the same value pre-formatted for display. device_name identifies which physical unit is reporting when many identical devices are polled from one management station. If temperature crosses a configured threshold, the device emits a trap carrying warning_t, int_temperature_t, and device_name_t so the operator immediately knows both the offending value and which unit raised the alarm.
What Can Be Monitored
- internal temperature (raw and formatted)
- device name/identity
- temperature warning trap threshold
