Description: The value of tmnxSonetTxDus specifies whether or not the value 0xF (dus/dnu) is forced in the S1 overhead byte.
What is tmnxSonetTxDus?
This object controls whether the SONET S1 overhead byte transmits a special marker (0xF or 'dus/dnu') that indicates degraded or non-operational status on a SONET interface. Setting this to true forces that marker into outgoing SONET frames for testing or to signal a controlled shutdown. An operator would use this during maintenance windows or to force SONET endpoints to treat the link as unavailable.
