This OID holds the upper 32 bits of a 64-bit counter measuring bytes forwarded at the virtual path and service level on egress (outgoing traffic). Combined with a lower-32-bit counter, it measures very large traffic volumes. An operator graphing total traffic would combine this with the lower bits to see the real amount of data leaving the port.
