Description: The tmnxOtuIfRowStatus controls the creation and deletion of row entries in the tmnxOtuIfTable.
Creating a row in the tmnxOtuIfTable using 'createAndGo (4)' enables OTU encapsulation for the interface. Deleting the row using 'destroy (6)' will disable the OTU encapsulation.
If a physical port does not support the OTU encapsulation, an attempt to set the tmnxOtuIfRowStatus to a value of 'createAndGo (4)' will fail with an inconsistent value result.
What is tmnxOtuIfRowStatus?
The RowStatus that enables or disables OTU (Optical Transport Unit) encapsulation on a physical interface: creating the row with createAndGo turns OTU on, destroying it turns OTU off. Attempting to create a row on a port that doesn't support OTU framing fails with an inconsistent-value error, so admins first confirm the port/MDA supports OTU before provisioning.
