tApsRdiAlarmGeneration

Module: TIMETRA-APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-APS-MIB::tApsRdiAlarmGeneration

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.29.5.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tApsRdiAlarmGeneration specifies the method used to generate RDI alarms on all levels (line, path) for the APS physical protecting/working ports referenced by apsChanConfigIfIndex.

The modification of the tApsRdiAlarmGeneration value is limited to an APS port with no protecting/working ports, otherwise an INCONSISTENT VALUE error is returned.

The available enumerations for tApsRdiAlarmGeneration are: - suppress - RDI alarms are not generated on any level. - circuit - RDI alarms are H/W generated independently on each working and protect circuit on RX failure of that circuit.

What is tApsRdiAlarmGeneration?

This value specifies how RDI (Remote Defect Indication) alarms are generated at all levels (line, path) for the APS group's working/protecting ports: suppress(0), no RDI alarms generated at any level, or circuit(1), RDI alarms independently hardware-generated per circuit on RX failure, defaulting to circuit; changing this value is only allowed on an APS group with no working/protecting ports configured, otherwise the SET is rejected. An admin sets this to suppress(0) when downstream RDI alarm propagation isn't wanted or would be redundant with other alarm mechanisms already covering the same failure. Setting tApsRdiAlarmGeneration to suppress(0) stops the APS group's ports from generating RDI alarms at either the line or path level on a receive failure.
