tApsProtectionType

Module: TIMETRA-APS-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-APS-MIB::tApsProtectionType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.29.5.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tApsProtectionType specifies the protection type of the APS group. The valid options are: onePlusOneSignalling (1) -- Signalling is 1+1, data is 1:1. onePlusOne (2) -- Both signalling and data is 1+1.

What is tApsProtectionType?

This value specifies the protection type of the APS group: onePlusOneSignalling(1), where signaling is 1+1 but data is 1:1, or onePlusOne(2), where both signaling and data are 1+1, defaulting to onePlusOneSignalling. An admin sets this to match the protection scheme expected by the connected equipment and service requirements, since the two modes differ in whether the protect circuit also actively carries a copy of the data. Setting tApsProtectionType to onePlusOne(2) means both the working and protect circuits carry live data simultaneously, not just signaling.
