Module: TIMETRA-APS-MIB
OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-APS-MIB::tApsMcHoldTime
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.29.3.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: The value of tApsMcHoldTime specifies how much time can pass, in 100s of milliseconds, without receiving an advertise packet from the neighbor before the Multi-Chassis signaling link is considered not operational. It is usually 3 times the value of tApsMcAdvertiseInterval. The value of tApsMcAdvertiseInterval is valid only for a Multi-Chassis APS as indicated by the value of tApsMcNeighborAddr not set to 0.0.0.0.
What is tApsMcHoldTime?
This value sets how long, in units of 100 milliseconds from 10 to 650 (1 to 65 seconds), the router waits without receiving an advertise message from its Multi-Chassis APS neighbor before considering the signaling link down, defaulting to 30 (3 seconds) and typically set to 3 times tApsMcAdvertiseInterval; it only applies when tApsMcNeighborAddr is configured. An admin tunes this alongside tApsMcAdvertiseInterval to control how quickly a Multi-Chassis signaling failure is declared versus tolerating brief keepalive delays. Setting tApsMcHoldTime to 150 (15 seconds) against an advertise interval of 50 (5 seconds) follows the recommended 3x ratio between the two timers.
