Description: The value of tApsMcAdvertiseInterval specifies the time interval, in 100s of milliseconds, between 'I am operational' messages sent by both protect and working circuits to their neighbor for Multi-Chassis APS. The value of tApsMcAdvertiseInterval is valid only for a Multi-Chassis APS as indicated by the value of tApsMcNeighborAddr not set to 0.0.0.0.
What is tApsMcAdvertiseInterval?
This value sets the interval, in units of 100 milliseconds from 10 to 650 (1 to 65 seconds), between 'I am operational' keepalive messages sent between the working and protect circuits' routers in a Multi-Chassis APS group, defaulting to 10 (1 second); it only applies when tApsMcNeighborAddr is configured (non-zero). An admin tunes this to balance how quickly a Multi-Chassis signaling failure is detected against the keepalive traffic overhead. Setting tApsMcAdvertiseInterval to 50 sends an MC-APS keepalive every 5 seconds between the two routers.
