Description: Manages Telsey set-top box devices, including tuner status, stream reception quality, and subscriber service parameters.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TELSEY-STB-MIB?
TELSEY-STB-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Telsey S.p.A. (enterprise OID telsey, enterprises 10171) that models management of Telsey set-top box devices; unlike the hint's description of tuner/stream-reception monitoring, the actual object set covers hardware/software identification, network configuration, firmware upgrade control, TV output settings, and an embedded browser/player subsystem rather than tuner status or stream-quality counters. It exposes device identity in stbInfo (hwVersion, swVersion, stbStatus for standby states), IP networking in networkIP (ipMode, ipAddress, ipGateway, ipDNS), firmware upgrade parameters in systemUpgrade (upgradeMode, upgradeMulticastGroup/Port, upgradeTftpIpAddress/FileName), and subscriber-facing configuration such as tvHdmiMode, subtitlesLanguage, and audioLanguage. This lets an operator confirm a deployed STB is reachable, running the expected firmware version, and correctly configured for its multicast-based upgrade mechanism, and remotely reboot or ping the unit via stbAction. It uses legacy RFC-1212/RFC1155-SMI conventions rather than SNMPv2 constructs. It is deployed on Telsey set-top boxes used in IPTV/broadcast subscriber deployments, and administrators can download the TELSEY-STB-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELSEY-STB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Telsey set-top box (STB) devices
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls hwVersion and swVersion for a fleet of set-top boxes after pushing an upgrade, checking upgradeRestoreInfo for error(2) and stbStatus to confirm the unit returned to running(0); a unit still reporting the prior swVersion or an error restore status would indicate a failed firmware upgrade needing a manual actionReboot.
What Can Be Monitored
- hardware/software version identification
- STB power/standby status
- IP network configuration (address, gateway, DNS)
- firmware upgrade mode and TFTP/multicast upgrade source
- upgrade restore/error status
- audio/subtitle language and HDMI output configuration
