Description: Defines Teldat router TFTP file transfer event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-TFTP-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-TFTP-MIB is a Teldat vendor MIB defining SNMP trap notifications for the router's TFTP file transfer subsystem, commonly used for firmware and configuration file transfers. It exposes only event data across numbered variants (tftp1 through tftp6), covering connection identifiers, remote IP addresses, descriptive strings, and retry counts, with no configuration or throughput counters of its own. It is used to monitor the software status of firmware/config transfer operations — flagging failed or retried TFTP transfers, which connection and remote host were involved, and descriptive error text — critical for catching firmware upgrade failures before they affect device availability. It depends on Teldat's proprietary trap framework layered over the standard TFTP protocol rather than a shared IETF TFTP MIB. It is deployed on Teldat routers during firmware/config provisioning workflows, monitored via an SNMP trap receiver, with the TELDAT-TRAP-TFTP-MIB MIB defining the specific trap variants used to signal a failed or retried transfer.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-TFTP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat routers
  • Teldat WAN/branch access routers

Monitoring Examples

tftp1-conn and tftp1-ip-address identify the connection and remote host for a TFTP session event, while tftp4-n-retry reports the retry count observed on a stalled or failing transfer. An operator managing a firmware rollout would alert on a rising tftp4-n-retry value as a sign that a device is failing to complete its image download, and use tftp2-string or tftp3-string descriptive text to diagnose the underlying transfer error. Being trap-only, this MIB provides no periodic counters — visibility is entirely through the notification stream during transfer events.

What Can Be Monitored

  • TFTP connection identifier
  • remote IP address of transfer
  • transfer retry count
  • transfer error/status description
