t11FLockInitiatorType

Module: T11-FC-FABRIC-LOCK-MIB

OID (symbolic): T11-FC-FABRIC-LOCK-MIB::t11FLockInitiatorType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.159.1.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object specifies what type of initiator generated the request that caused this lock to be established:

other - none of the following.

ssb - this lock was established due to the receipt of an SSB, e.g., from a GS-5 client. cli - this lock was established in order to process a Command Line Interface (CLI) command. snmp - this lock was established as a result of an SNMP SetRequest.

What is t11FLockInitiatorType?

This value identifies what type of client initiated the request that established this Fibre Channel fabric lock: other, ssb (a GS-5 client's Server Session Begin), cli (a Command Line Interface command), or snmp (an SNMP SetRequest). Admins use it to understand what triggered a currently held fabric lock, useful when investigating why fabric-wide configuration changes seem blocked. A value of cli would tell the admin someone is holding the lock via a switch's command-line session rather than through SNMP or a GS-5 management client.
