Description: STREAMCORE-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is STREAMCORE-MIB?

STREAMCORE-MIB is the top-level proprietary module for StreamCore (a French vendor of WAN optimization/traffic-shaping appliances known as Stream Groomers), covering general device management for that product line. It exposes data on QoS operational status, memory availability, generic gauge/ratio value objects used for building custom performance metrics, and active alarm identifiers. Its monitoring focus is squarely on software and system health: whether QoS shaping is operating correctly, how much free static and dynamic memory the appliance has left, and whether any alarms are currently raised, all of which indicate impending resource exhaustion or service degradation. The module defines its own object structure without heavy reliance on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMP conventions. It is deployed on StreamCore Stream Groomer appliances used for WAN traffic shaping and optimization in enterprise branch/data-center links. Engineers can download the STREAMCORE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in STREAMCORE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • StreamCore Stream Groomer WAN optimization appliance

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll scQosOperStatus to confirm QoS shaping is actively enforcing policy, and watch scFreeStaticMemory and scFreeDynamicMemory for a steady decline that signals a memory leak or overload on the streamGroomer device. The generic value objects (scGetRatioValue, scGetRealValue, scLeftValue, scRightValue) are typically used to expose custom performance ratios, while scAlarmIdValue surfaces which specific alarm condition is currently active. A non-zero scAlarmIdValue paired with falling free-memory values would point to a groomer nearing resource exhaustion.

What Can Be Monitored
