Description: Manages Stormshield next-generation firewall alarm definitions, severity levels, and event notification settings.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is STORMSHIELD-ALARM-MIB?

STORMSHIELD-ALARM-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Stormshield, defining alarm objects and severity levels for its next-generation firewall/UTM appliances. It covers the structure of security and system alarms the firewall can raise, including alarm identifiers, severity classification, and notification (trap) configuration, spanning both security-event alarms (e.g., intrusion attempts) and general device-health alarms. Monitoring this MIB lets an administrator track the fault status of the firewall, receiving alerts on conditions ranging from detected attacks to internal resource or hardware problems, effectively serving as the device's software-level fault/event reporting layer. It relies on standard SNMP notification (trap) conventions and complements Stormshield's companion statistics MIB (the ASQ engine stats module), which provides the underlying counters some alarms are derived from. It is deployed on Stormshield firewall/UTM appliances protecting enterprise or branch-office network perimeters. Engineers can download the STORMSHIELD-ALARM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in STORMSHIELD-ALARM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Stormshield next-generation firewall/UTM appliance

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were available for this MIB, so a concrete monitoring scenario citing real object names cannot be honestly constructed; based on its stated purpose, an admin would typically configure their NMS as a trap receiver for Stormshield alarm notifications and filter by severity level to prioritize critical security or system-health alerts.
