What Is SPINS-DS1-MIB?
SPINS-DS1-MIB is a minimal, largely placeholder Lucent Technologies enterprise MIB intended to manage DS1 interface configuration, framing, and performance statistics on Lucent SPINS (Signaling Point IN Softswitch-related) device-server platforms, rooted under lucent.products.softSwitch.spinsDeviceServer (enterprises.1751.1.1198.8). As shipped, the module defines only its MODULE-IDENTITY and an empty spinsSystem OBJECT IDENTIFIER placeholder — the DS1-specific framing, alarm, and performance-statistics objects implied by its name and module description are not yet populated in this revision, making it effectively a stub for future DS1 instrumentation. Because it imports standard textual conventions (TruthValue, TestAndIncr, TimeStamp, RowStatus) and Counter32 from SNMPv2-SMI/TC, later revisions are expected to expose per-DS1-interface counters and status consistent with the standard DS1/E1 MIB conventions. It is deployed on Lucent SPINS softswitch device-server hardware within carrier signaling networks. Given its incomplete state, administrators should treat any SPINS-DS1-MIB download as a starting skeleton rather than a fully instrumented DS1 interface MIB.
