sleMplsTpTunnelStatsInfoRole

Module: SLE-MPLS-TP-TUNNEL-STATISTICS-MIB

OID (symbolic): SLE-MPLS-TP-TUNNEL-STATISTICS-MIB::sleMplsTpTunnelStatsInfoRole

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6296.101.16.20.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This value signifies the role that this tunnel entry/instance represents. This value MUST be set to head(1) at the originating point of the tunnel. This value MUST be set to transit(2) at transit points along the tunnel, if transit points are supported. This value MUST be set to tail(3) at the terminating point of the tunnel if tunnel tails are supported.

The value headTail(4) is provided for tunnels that begin and end on the same LSR.

What is sleMplsTpTunnelStatsInfoRole?

This value indicates the role this node plays for the tunnel: source(0) at the originating point, transit(1) at an intermediate point along the path, or destination(2) at the terminating point. An admin uses it to understand where in the LSP's path the reporting device sits, which affects how to interpret the accompanying forward and reverse traffic counters for that tunnel. For example, sleMplsTpTunnelStatsInfoRole showing destination(2) tells an admin this device is the tail end of the LSP receiving traffic sent from the source.
