muxIfType

Module: SL-MUX-MIB

OID (symbolic): SL-MUX-MIB::muxIfType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4515.1.5.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The number of wave lengths supported by the mux.

What is muxIfType?

This read-only value reports how many distinct wavelengths (WDM channels) the multiplexer interface supports. An administrator uses it to understand the channel capacity of a given mux card, for example distinguishing a 40-channel DWDM mux from an 8-channel CWDM mux. It's a capacity indicator rather than a configuration setting, since the field is read-only.
