Description: Root enterprise MIB for SmartOptics SiteLight optical network elements, defining the OID subtree and product identifiers for T-4400, T-4900, T-4920, T-9900, and ROADM device families
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SL-NE-MIB?
SL-NE-MIB is the root enterprise MIB for SmartOptics, defining the private OID subtree and product-identifier arbitrary values for the SiteLight family of optical network elements (T-4400, T-4900, T-4920, T-9900) and ROADM platforms used in metro/DWDM optical transport networks. Rather than exposing operational counters directly, it establishes the naming hierarchy (sitelight, plproduct, sone) under which SmartOptics' companion MIBs attach the actual managed objects for chassis, transponder, and amplifier status. The SL-NE-MIB MIB is generally loaded before any SmartOptics companion module so that product identifiers like T-4400r resolve correctly. As a pure registration module it does not itself carry monitorable data such as uptime, temperature, or optical power levels — those live in the product-specific MIBs rooted under this tree, so this module's role is structural rather than diagnostic. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise numbering conventions to allocate SmartOptics' private branch, and in deployment it is loaded alongside the vendor's device MIBs on SmartOptics optical network elements so that NMS tools can recognize and organize objects from the SiteLight/ROADM product line.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SL-NE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- SmartOptics SiteLight optical network elements (T-4400/T-4900/T-9900 series)
- SmartOptics ROADM platforms
Monitoring Examples
SL-NE-MIB defines only OID nodes and product identifiers — sitelight, plproduct, sone, and per-model tags like T-4400r, T-4408, and T-4900r — with no scalar or tabular runtime objects of its own. Because of that, there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly here: an admin cannot poll uptime, temperature, or alarm state directly from this module. Actual fault and performance monitoring of SiteLight units would be done through separate SmartOptics MIBs whose objects are registered under this root.
