slmSysActiveSwVersion

Module: SL-MAIN-MIB

OID (symbolic): SL-MAIN-MIB::slmSysActiveSwVersion

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4515.1.3.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Determines the active software version. This is the version that will be loaded by rebooted cards. It is not legal to set this object to the id of an illegal system software version. swRevFtpStart(3) - is set by the NMS to signal the FTP start. swRevFtpEnd(4) - is set by the NMS to signal the FTP completion. swRevAHot(5) - means to change the active software version to A, and to preform hot restart to all cards. swRevBHot(6) - means to change the active software version to B, and to preform hot restart to all cards. Reading the object returns the current active software version.

What is slmSysActiveSwVersion?

This read-write value selects which system software version (A or B) cards will load on reboot, or signals FTP transfer start/completion, or triggers a hot restart onto version A or B; reading it returns the currently active version. An admin sets this to swRevBHot, for example, to cut over to software revision B across all cards with a hot restart rather than a full cold reboot.
