What Is SILVERPEAK-PRODUCTS-MIB?
SILVERPEAK-PRODUCTS-MIB is a product-identification module from Silver Peak Systems, a WAN optimization and SD-WAN appliance vendor, that defines the object identifiers assigned to each hardware platform so they can be returned as a device's sysObjectID value. It belongs to the vendor product-registry category rather than exposing any runtime operational data. This module has no monitorable status objects of its own; instead its sole purpose is to let management systems identify exactly which Silver Peak hardware model (e.g., an NX-series appliance) a device is, which indirectly supports inventory and software/hardware compatibility tracking rather than direct health monitoring. It depends on the standard SNMPv2-SMI sysObjectID mechanism to be useful. It is deployed wherever Silver Peak WAN optimization/SD-WAN appliances are managed, as a lookup reference alongside other MIBs that provide actual runtime statistics. This module is a conformance/identification-only MIB: it defines OID leaves like spsNX2500, spsNX3500, spsNX5500, spsNX7500, spsNX8500, and spsNX1700 purely as constant identifiers returned in sysObjectID, with no polled runtime data behind them. A management system would use the returned OID to determine that a discovered device is, for example, an NX-5500 appliance, and then select the appropriate companion MIB or template for that hardware model. There is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe beyond this device-identification lookup.
