What Is SCTE-HMS-HEADENDIDENT-TC-MIB?

SCTE-HMS-HEADENDIDENT-TC-MIB is part of the SCTE Hardware Management System (HMS) standards suite used in cable television headend and hub-site equipment management. It defines textual conventions, specifically enumerations for identifying types of headend or indoor cable equipment, rather than exposing runtime data objects itself. As a pure type-definition module it has no direct role in reporting live hardware/software status such as uptime or temperature; that data is carried by other HMS MIBs that reference these equipment-type textual conventions, and consulting the SCTE-HMS-HEADENDIDENT-TC-MIB OID list confirms this, since it contains only equipment-type enumerations with no polling targets of its own. Other SCTE HMS MIB modules (covering alarms, power supplies, and general headend equipment) depend on this module's type definitions to classify equipment consistently. It is used across cable operator headend facilities employing SCTE HMS-compliant management agents on headend/indoor equipment.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SCTE-HMS-HEADENDIDENT-TC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • cable television headend/hub-site equipment (SCTE HMS-compliant)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only textual conventions (equipment-type enumerations) for identifying headend/indoor cable equipment; it has no sample runtime objects or tables of its own, so no concrete monitoring scenario applies here — other SCTE HMS MIBs use these type definitions when reporting actual equipment status.
