salixSysSyncSecondaryRef
Module: SALIX-SYSTEM-MIB
OID (symbolic): SALIX-SYSTEM-MIB::salixSysSyncSecondaryRef
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2158.2.3.1.5.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: InterfaceIndex
Access: read-write
Description: The interface index of the secondary reference line from which the sync module can derive timing. If the 'salixSysSyncTimingMode' is set to 'line' then this interface index should identify a physical line termination point. If the 'salixSysSyncTimingMode' is set to 'external' then this interface index should identify an external timing interface.
The secondary reference line is only used if the salixSysSyncTimingMode is set to 'line' or 'external' and the primary reference line identified by 'salixSysSyncPrimaryRef' has an oper status of 'down'.
What is salixSysSyncSecondaryRef?
The interface index of the secondary/backup reference line the sync module can derive timing from, used only when salixSysSyncTimingMode is line or external and the primary reference (salixSysSyncPrimaryRef) has gone operationally down. An admin configures this as a fallback timing source for resilience against primary-reference failure.
