Description: The type of reset to issue to the plug-in unit. The following types of plug-in units can be reset, 'mpu', 'dpu', 'smu', 'liu' and 'hsf'.
Writing a cold(1) or warm(2) value to this object will initiate a reset of the plug-in unit. The reset value will remain until the reset completes. When completed the reset value will be changed to none(0). The following are valid reset values:
cold(1) - cold reset initiated warm(2) - warm reset initiated
What is salixAtmfM4PlugInUnitReset?
This read-write object triggers a reset of this plug-in unit when set to cold(1) or warm(2), automatically reverting to none(0) once the reset completes. Admins use it to remotely reboot a specific module type, mpu, dpu, smu, liu, or hsf, without power-cycling the whole chassis, choosing cold for a full hardware reset or warm for a lighter-weight restart. Setting salixAtmfM4PlugInUnitReset to warm(2) on a misbehaving line interface unit would restart just that module, and the value would return to none(0) once the reset finishes.
