Description: ZTE Corp environment monitoring MIB for ZTE 128-series advanced routers, managing memory utilization checks, thresholds, and polling intervals via the ZXR10 SMI

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ROUTERENV?

ROUTERENV is a ZTE Corporation enterprise MIB (under the ZXR10 SMI) that provides environment monitoring configuration for ZTE's 128-series advanced routers. It defines objects to enable/disable and configure memory and CPU-load checking, including polling intervals and one or more alerting thresholds for each. This is a direct hardware/software health-monitoring MIB: memCheckOnOff and memCheckThreshhold (with memCheckInterval) let an administrator enable periodic memory-utilization checks against a configured threshold, while cpuloadCheckOnOff, cpuloadCheckInterval, cpuloadCheckThreshold1 and cpuloadCheckThreshold3 do the same for CPU load with multiple severity thresholds -- classic CPU/memory resource-exhaustion monitoring for the router's control-plane software. It is a ZTE-proprietary MIB defined under their own ZXR10 enterprise SMI, with no apparent dependency on external IETF standard MIBs for this functionality. It would be deployed on ZTE 128-series advanced routers in service-provider or enterprise IP networks to catch memory leaks or CPU overload conditions before they cause instability, with the ROUTERENV MIB loaded into the router's SNMP agent to expose these thresholds for polling.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ROUTERENV. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE 128-series advanced routers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would enable memCheckOnOff and cpuloadCheckOnOff, set memCheckInterval/cpuloadCheckInterval for how often checks run, and configure memCheckThreshhold along with the two-tier cpuloadCheckThreshold1/cpuloadCheckThreshold3 to define warning and critical CPU-load levels; the router raises an internal alert when the memory or cpu objects exceed those configured thresholds, revealing a memory leak or a control-plane process consuming excessive CPU.

What Can Be Monitored

  • memory utilization check enable/interval/threshold
  • CPU load check enable/interval
  • CPU load warning threshold
  • CPU load critical threshold
