This read-only counter tallies the total frames that have passed through this priority queue on this port. An admin uses frame counts alongside byte counts to distinguish whether a queue is handling many small packets or fewer large ones, which affects whether the queue is bandwidth- or packet-rate-constrained. For example, a queue with a high frame count but modest byte count would suggest it is carrying small packets, such as control traffic or VoIP, rather than bulk data.
