Description: The total cost over the current path to the destination area. Cost is a value associated with using a circuit. Routing routes messages (data) along the path between 2 areas with the smallest cost.
What is phivAreaCost?
This read-only value is the total routing cost of the current best path to this destination area; Routing always prefers the lowest-cost inter-area path. Admins use it to see whether traffic to a given area is taking an expensive route, similar to how phivLevel1RouteCost works for individual nodes.
