etherStatsDataSource

Module: RFC1271-MIB

OID (symbolic): RFC1271-MIB::etherStatsDataSource

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OBJECT IDENTIFIER

Access: read-write

Description: This object identifies the source of the data that this etherStats entry is configured to analyze. This source can be any ethernet interface on this device. In order to identify a particular interface, this object shall identify the instance of the ifIndex object, defined in [4,6], for the desired interface. For example, if an entry were to receive data from interface #1, this object would be set to ifIndex.1.

The statistics in this group reflect all packets on the local network segment attached to the identified interface.

This object may not be modified if the associated etherStatsStatus object is equal to valid(1).

What is etherStatsDataSource?

OID identifying which interface (via its ifIndex instance, e.g. ifIndex.1) this etherStats entry collects statistics from; it reflects all packets on that interface's local segment and cannot be changed once the entry's status is valid.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.1.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> RFC1271-MIB::etherStatsDataSource

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.1.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> RFC1271-MIB::etherStatsDataSource.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.1.1.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> etherStatsDataSource.1
