What Is RBN-IETF-TRACEROUTE-CAP?
This is an Ericsson-specific AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which objects and features of the standard IETF DISMAN-TRACEROUTE-MIB (RFC 2925) are implemented on Ericsson SmartEdge (SE), SM, and SSR family platforms (part of the Redback/Ericsson RBN product line). As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module it defines no manageable objects or tables of its own — it is purely conformance metadata describing what another MIB's agent implementation supports. It has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; its function is limited to telling management systems which parts of DISMAN-TRACEROUTE-MIB are supported on a given Ericsson SEOS software release. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the IETF DISMAN-TRACEROUTE-MIB it describes. It would be consulted by NMS tooling during capability negotiation when integrating Ericsson SmartEdge/SM/SSR platforms, not used for day-to-day polling, so administrators typically reference the RBN-IETF-TRACEROUTE-CAP MIB only once during initial platform integration.

As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, RBN-IETF-TRACEROUTE-CAP defines no runtime data objects or tables of its own (no sample_objects were extracted), so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe; its only function is to declare, for network management tooling, which parts of the referenced DISMAN-TRACEROUTE-MIB this Ericsson SEOS agent implements.
