RBN-IETF-SONET-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module (Ericsson SmartEdge platforms) documenting a SmartEdge/SEOS SNMP agent's implementation coverage of the standard IETF SONET/SDH interface MIB (SONET-MIB). It carries no runtime data itself, only PRODUCT-RELEASE metadata naming applicable SmartEdge product families (MSER, SM, SSR) and SEOS software version, along with references to which SONET-MIB object groups and variations are supported. Its relevance to hardware status monitoring is indirect: it tells an NMS which SONET/SDH line and section-level performance and alarm objects (from the standard SONET-MIB) are actually available on a given SmartEdge platform, guiding what can be polled from that companion standard MIB rather than reporting SONET status directly. It has an explicit dependency on the standard IETF SONET-MIB, whose conformance it documents, and complements the vendor-specific RBN-APS-MIB used for protection switching on the same platforms. It is typically consulted during NMS onboarding for SmartEdge routers with SONET/SDH interfaces, not polled at runtime. Engineers can download the RBN-IETF-SONET-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe from polling it; it exists solely to declare which parts of the standard IETF SONET-MIB are implemented on a given Ericsson SmartEdge SEOS release and product family.
