What Is RBN-IETF-SNMPv2-CAP?
RBN-IETF-SNMPv2-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module documenting Ericsson's implementation conformance of the standard SNMPv2-MIB (RFC 1907) on the SmartEdge family of products, including the SmartEdge Multi-service Edge Router, Metro Ethernet Service Transport (SM) platforms, and Smart Service Router (SSR) family. Rather than defining runtime data objects, it declares which groups and variations of the SNMPv2-MIB are supported by a given Ericsson SEOS software release, serving as a compatibility/capabilities statement for management stations. As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module it has no monitorable hardware or software status objects of its own; instead it clarifies what standard SNMPv2 system/SNMP-group data (uptime, SNMP counters, etc.) the platform actually implements. It explicitly depends on the IETF SNMPv2-MIB (RFC 1907) which it documents conformance to. It is used by NMS vendors and integrators to determine SNMP polling capabilities before deploying monitoring against Ericsson SmartEdge/SSR devices. Engineers can download the RBN-IETF-SNMPv2-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBN-IETF-SNMPv2-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES document rather than a source of runtime data, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly beyond referencing which SNMPv2-MIB groups are implemented on Ericsson SEOS platforms; sample_objects were empty for this module in the source, consistent with it containing no data tables. A management station would consult it during onboarding to confirm, for example, whether the SNMP-VIEW-BASED-ACCESS or system group variations are supported before building a polling profile, but it exposes no pollable objects itself.
