What Is RARITANCCv2-MIB?

RARITANCCv2-MIB is a vendor-specific module for Raritan Inc.'s CommandCenter Secure Gateway (CC-SG), a centralized management appliance for KVM-over-IP and serial device access across data centers. It exposes objects covering user session activity (user names, session IDs, who initiated/terminated sessions), user account lifecycle events (who added, deleted, or modified a user), and firmware/image version and update status for managed target devices. Its monitoring value centers on software/operational status: tracking ccImageVersion and ccImageVersionStatus reveals whether managed KVM/serial nodes are running expected firmware or mid-upgrade, while user session and account-change objects support security and access auditing of who is actively controlling managed servers. It is Raritan's own enterprise MIB structured under products/enterprise-management/commandCenter branches with no strong dependency on external standard MIBs beyond baseline SNMP conventions. It is typically deployed in enterprise/data-center environments using Raritan CommandCenter as the single pane of glass for out-of-band KVM and serial access to racks of servers. Engineers can download the RARITANCCv2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RARITANCCv2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • active user sessions
  • session start/end initiator
  • managed device firmware/image version
  • firmware update status
  • user account creation/deletion/modification history

Supported Devices

  • Raritan CommandCenter Secure Gateway
  • Raritan KVM-over-IP switch

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll ccUserSessionId alongside ccUserName and ccUserNameInitiated/ccUserNameTerminated to audit which users are currently connected via KVM-over-IP and when sessions began or ended, useful for detecting unauthorized or unusually long access sessions. ccImageVersion and ccImageVersionStatus would be checked per managed device (ccObjectName/ccObjectInstance) to confirm firmware is current or to catch a failed/incomplete upgrade. ccUserWhoAdded, ccUserWhoDeleted, and ccUserWhoModified provide an audit trail for account changes, useful for security compliance reviews.
