pdnIfMultiprotocolEncapConfigBridgedPDUs

Module: PDN-IF-EXT-CONFIG-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-IF-EXT-CONFIG-MIB::pdnIfMultiprotocolEncapConfigBridgedPDUs

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.12.3.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: In the transmit direction user can configure the IP routed PDUs in the LLC SNAP encapsulation or VC Based Multiplexing encapsulation (RFC1483). If neither is configured 'none' is used.

What is pdnIfMultiprotocolEncapConfigBridgedPDUs?

This object selects the Layer 2 encapsulation method used for bridged (non-routed) traffic on a multiprotocol-encapsulated interface, again choosing among none, LLC/SNAP, or VC-based multiplexing per RFC 1483. An administrator configures this separately from the routed-PDU setting because a link can carry both bridged and routed traffic with different encapsulation needs. For example, setting this object to vcBasedMultiplexing(3) tells the interface to encapsulate bridged frames using a dedicated ATM virtual circuit per protocol rather than LLC/SNAP headers.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.12.3.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-IF-EXT-CONFIG-MIB::pdnIfMultiprotocolEncapConfigBridgedPDUs

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.12.3.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-IF-EXT-CONFIG-MIB::pdnIfMultiprotocolEncapConfigBridgedPDUs.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.6.12.3.1.1.2.1 i <value>
