mdmRemoteAccessMode

Module: PANDATEL-ETC-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-ETC-MODEM-MIB::mdmRemoteAccessMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.901.1.1.64

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The possibility of remote management: 'enabled', 'disabled local' or 'disable local and remote'. Once disabled management at local and remote unit, it is not possible to enable it at the remote unit again.

What is mdmRemoteAccessMode?

This object controls whether this modem can be managed remotely, offering enable(5), disable-local(8), or disable-local-and-remote(9), with the important caveat that once management is disabled at both local and remote units, it cannot be re-enabled from the remote side afterward. Admins must set this carefully, since choosing disable-local-and-remote(9) can permanently lock out remote management of that unit going forward. For example, an admin planning to manage a remote modem later should avoid setting mdmRemoteAccessMode to disable-local-and-remote(9), since that would require physical local access to ever restore remote management.
