Description: OSBRiDGE MIB for the 5XLi outdoor wireless bridge, exposing device type, MAC address, firmware version, hardware revision, wireless interface parameters, and trap definitions

What Is OSBRiDGE5XLi-MIB?
The OSBRiDGE5XLi-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module for OSBRiDGE's 5XLi outdoor wireless Ethernet bridge, a point-to-point/point-to-multipoint radio device used in wireless ISP and long-range wireless LAN links. It exposes device identity data (device type, MAC address, firmware version, hardware revision), radio configuration such as regulatory domain and connection status, and wireless link-quality metrics like remote BSSID, signal strength, and noise floor, plus traffic counters for transmitted packets and bytes. It is squarely aimed at monitoring hardware and software status of the bridge - administrators use it to check firmware version and hardware revision for inventory/patch tracking, and to watch signal strength, noise, and operating rate as health indicators of the radio link. As a small, self-contained enterprise MIB it has no apparent formal dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the base SNMPv2-SMI framework. It's typically deployed on outdoor wireless bridge units at both ends of a fixed wireless link, polled by a wireless ISP's NMS to track link quality and uptime. Engineers can download the OSBRiDGE5XLi-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in OSBRiDGE5XLi-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- OSBRiDGE 5XLi outdoor wireless bridge
Monitoring Examples
A monitoring station would poll sysSigStr and sysNoise together to gauge the signal-to-noise ratio of the link to the peer identified by sysRemoteBSSID, alerting if the ratio degrades below a threshold that predicts throughput loss. sysOperRate reveals whether the radio has stepped down its modulation rate due to interference, while sysTxPack and sysTxByte give running counters of traffic pushed across the bridge. sysFirmVer and sysHarRev let an operator confirm which units in the field still need a firmware upgrade.
What Can Be Monitored
- radio signal strength
- noise floor
- operating data rate
- remote peer BSSID/connection status
- firmware version
- transmitted packets/bytes
