What Is Nortel-Magellan-Passport-TextualConventionsMIB?
This module defines Nortel-specific (non-standard) ASN.1 textual conventions used across the earlier Magellan Passport MIB family for Passport WAN/ATM switches. As with its 'Standard' counterpart, it carries no runtime data objects; its sample content (textualConventionsGroup and nested group/capability nodes) is conformance/grouping scaffolding, not live device state. It has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; it exists to give other Magellan Passport MIBs consistent custom data types. It is a foundational dependency for functional Magellan Passport MIB modules alongside the Standard Textual Conventions MIB. It's deployed with legacy Nortel Magellan Passport WAN switches in older telecom infrastructure, and as with its standard counterpart, there is no Nortel-Magellan-Passport-TextualConventionsMIB OID that yields live data, since the module supplies only shared data types for other MIBs to use.
