Category: Environmental Monitoring

Description: Provides comprehensive environmental monitoring, camera management, and alert objects for NetBotz v2 sensor appliances.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETBOTZV2-MIB?

NETBOTZV2-MIB is a proprietary MIB from NetBotz (an APC/Schneider Electric brand) for the BotzWare V2.x environmental monitoring appliance family, covering physical enclosure sensors, docked peripheral modules, camera integration, and alerting. It exposes environmental and physical-security data organized around enclosures, including enclosure identity, operational status, error status, and hierarchical parent/docked relationships between enclosures and attached sensor pods, alongside digital I/O port state. Its monitoring value is strongly hardware-status oriented: tracking whether an enclosure or docked sensor pod is online and healthy via enclosureStatus/enclosureErrorStatus, and whether digital input ports (dinPortTable) report contact-closure events such as door-open or leak-detection sensors. It is a self-contained NetBotz vendor MIB with its own enterprise tree, though it is commonly deployed alongside standard entity/environmental conventions in APC's broader NetBotz appliance software. It is deployed in data centers and equipment rooms where physical security and environmental appliances (temperature, humidity, door, camera) are aggregated and reported via SNMP. Engineers can download the NETBOTZV2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETBOTZV2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NetBotz (APC/Schneider Electric) BotzWare V2.x environmental monitoring appliances

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll enclosureTable/enclosureEntry, keyed by enclosureId, to check enclosureStatus and enclosureErrorStatus for the main unit and any docked pods (enclosureDockedToEncId, enclosureParentEncId), flagging a pod reporting an error state as a failed or disconnected sensor module. Polling dinPortTable/dinPortEntry for dinPortStatus on a given dinPortId reveals whether a connected dry-contact sensor, such as a door or water-leak detector, is currently triggered. A change in enclosureLabel combined with an error status would help identify which physically labeled unit in a data center rack needs attention.

What Can Be Monitored

  • enclosure/pod operational status
  • enclosure error status
  • docked pod hierarchy
  • digital input port (contact sensor) status
