Category: Environmental Monitoring

Description: Manages environmental monitoring, sensor thresholds, and alert notifications on Schneider Electric NetBotz 410 devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is NETBOTZ410-MIB?

NETBOTZ410-MIB is the vendor BotzWare MIB for the Schneider Electric/APC NetBotz 410 environmental appliance, an add-on sensor pod that monitors physical conditions in server racks and data center enclosures. It exposes an enclosure table describing the physical/logical structure of monitored racks (enclosure IDs, labels, parent/docked relationships) along with per-enclosure and device-wide error status, and sensor count tracking via the alink sensor table. It is explicitly used to monitor hardware health: netBotzErrorStatus and enclosureErrorStatus surface fault conditions on the appliance or its attached sensor pods, letting operators detect problems like a disconnected sensor link or an enclosure fault before it escalates to an environmental incident. It builds on the shared NetBotz/APC private enterprise MIB tree and trap infrastructure (netBotzTraps) for alerting. It is deployed in data centers and server rooms wherever NetBotz 410 sensor pods are attached to racks for temperature, humidity, and physical security monitoring, forming the basis of NETBOTZ410-MIB SNMP monitoring for those racks.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETBOTZ410-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NetBotz 410 environmental monitoring appliance
  • Schneider Electric/APC rack sensor pod

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll enclosureTable/enclosureEntry to enumerate each enclosureIndex and read enclosureStatus and enclosureErrorStatus to see whether a given rack enclosure is reporting healthy or faulted; a non-zero enclosureErrorStatus combined with a populated enclosureLabel identifies exactly which rack has a problem. The enclosureParentEncId and enclosureDockedToEncId let the admin reconstruct which sub-enclosures are physically attached to a parent unit. netBotzErrorStatus gives a device-wide summary, while alinkSensorCountTable tracks how many sensors are attached via the sensor link bus, useful for detecting a dropped sensor.

What Can Be Monitored

  • enclosure fault/error status
  • enclosure identification and hierarchy
  • device-wide error status
  • attached sensor count
