What Is MWRM-PM-MIB?

MWRM-PM-MIB is the performance-monitoring companion to the MWRM microwave radio equipment family, defining objects that record radio-link signal-quality statistics over fixed measurement intervals such as 15-minute bins. It exposes performance data specific to the RF unit (RFU) of a microwave link, most notably received signal level (RSL) and transmitted signal level (TSL) minimum/maximum values along with counts of threshold-crossing events when levels exceed configured limits. This is squarely a hardware/RF-link health monitoring MIB: it lets an operator track the radio's signal strength trends and catch degrading link quality, such as from fading or misalignment, before it causes an outage, functioning like a performance-counter MIB for a wireless link. It shares the genEquip/genEquipUnit equipment-indexing convention with MWRM-NETWORK-MIB, indicating both modules describe the same physical radio units. It is deployed in microwave backhaul networks where NOC teams continuously trend RSL/TSL performance to plan maintenance and detect fading link margins. Engineers can download the MWRM-PM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

A NOC engineer polls genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minMinRsl and genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minMaxRsl from genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minTable to trend the receive signal level swing on a given radio hop each interval, keyed by genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minIfIndex. A rising count in genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minRslExceed1/RslExceed2 signals the link crossed a configured RSL threshold, and combined with genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minTimeAndDate pinpoints when signal fading occurred. Similarly, genEquipPmRfuCommonSL15minMinTsl/MaxTsl and TslExceed counters reveal transmit-power instability at the far end.
