What Is MWRM-RADIO-MIB?

MWRM-RADIO-MIB is a vendor MIB for managing microwave radio module (RFU - Radio Frequency Unit) equipment, covering RF configuration, frequency planning, and link operational state for microwave point-to-point radio links. It exposes a status table for each RFU covering identifying data, RF type/grade, running firmware version, and live RF measurements. Its monitoring emphasis strongly covers hardware and RF-link health: it reports receive and transmit signal levels, diversity receive levels, transmit/receive frequency separation, module temperature, and running software version, which together reveal RF link degradation, overheating, or firmware drift on the radio unit. It is a self-contained equipment MIB (genEquip tree) but conceptually aligns with generic radio-link/interface monitoring standards for microwave transport. It is deployed on microwave radio backhaul links used by telecom operators for point-to-point transport between towers or base stations. Engineers can download the MWRM-RADIO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MWRM-RADIO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. Monitoring Examples

An operator polls genEquipRfuStatusTable/genEquipRfuStatusEntry for a given genEquipRfuStatusId to check genEquipRfuStatusRxLevel and genEquipRfuStatusTxLevel, spotting a receive level drop that signals a fading or misaligned microwave link. genEquipRfuStatusTemperature reveals whether the RFU is overheating, while genEquipRfuStatusRunningVersion confirms firmware consistency across a link's two ends, and genEquipRfuStatusRxLevelDiversity helps validate that the diversity reception path is contributing properly to link quality.
