mplsFecAddrPrefixLength

Module: MPLS-LDP-STD-MIB

OID (symbolic): MPLS-LDP-STD-MIB::mplsFecAddrPrefixLength

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.166.4.1.3.8.3.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InetAddressPrefixLength

Access: read-create

Description: If the value of the 'mplsFecType' is 'hostAddress(2)' then this object is undefined.

If the value of 'mplsFecType' is 'prefix(1)' then the value of this object is the length in bits of the address prefix represented by 'mplsFecAddr', or zero. If the value of this object is zero, this indicates that the prefix matches all addresses. In this case the address prefix MUST also be zero (i.e., 'mplsFecAddr' should have the value of zero.)

What is mplsFecAddrPrefixLength?

This OID holds the prefix length, in bits, for this FEC's address when mplsFecType is prefix(1) (undefined when it's hostAddress), with 0 meaning the prefix matches all addresses and mplsFecAddr must also be zero in that case, per RFC 3036 section 3.4.1. Admins set this to define exactly how broad a prefix-based FEC's address match should be.
