Module: MP-IPV6-MIB
OID (symbolic): MP-IPV6-MIB::mpIpv6PingStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.119.2.3.3.13.131.1.1.9
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This object refers to the ping6 entry status. When this object is set to create(1), ping6 entry is created. Set to inProgress(2), ping6 is Started. When a reply or icmpv6 error receiveed and time out occured, the status become complete(3). This object can not set to complete(3). Set to destroy(4), entry is deleted.
What is mpIpv6PingStatus?
This read-write value controls and reports the lifecycle state of a ping6 test entry: setting it to create(1) creates the entry, inProgress(2) starts the ping, and destroy(4) deletes it, while complete(3) is a status the agent sets itself once a reply, ICMPv6 error, or timeout occurs and cannot be set by a manager. An admin drives a ping6 test through this state machine, creating the entry, configuring its target and parameters, then setting it to inProgress to start the test and later destroying it to clean up. For example, an admin sets this object to create(1) to allocate a new ping6 entry, then to inProgress(2) once the target and options are configured, to actually launch the test.
