Description: The number of input IP datagrams discarded because the IP address in their IP header's destination field was not a valid address to be received at this entity. This count includes invalid addresses (e.g., ::0). For entities that are not IP routers and therefore do not forward datagrams, this counter includes datagrams discarded because the destination address was not a local address.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the system, and at other times as indicated by the value of DiscontinuityTime.

What is me1200IpStatisticsInterfaceIpv4InAddrErrors?

This counter counts datagrams dropped because the destination address in the IP header wasn't a valid address for this device to receive, including malformed addresses, tallied for one specific IP interface, selected by the row's interface index for IPv4 traffic. A rising value while everything else looks healthy is usually the first sign of a misconfiguration or an attack, so admins graph it alongside the throughput counters rather than reading it alone.
