Description: Marvell Semiconductor green/energy efficiency MIB defining power reduction and EEE management objects for environmentally friendly operation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MARVELL-GREEN-MIB?

MARVELL-GREEN-MIB is a MARVELL Semiconductor, Inc. proprietary MIB (built on RADLAN-MIB) configuring the Green Ethernet Energy Detect power-saving feature on Marvell switch-silicon-based products. Its objects cover a global energy-detect enable, short-reach-mode enable, current/max energy consumption, a cumulative power-save meter (and reset action), a short-reach threshold, and a per-port table (power-saving type, admin/operational state, non-operational reason, forced short-reach interface list, LED-mask status). As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm which ports have Green Ethernet energy-saving active on a Marvell-silicon-based switch. It is deployed on switching equipment built on Marvell switch silicon. Engineers can download the MARVELL-GREEN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MARVELL-GREEN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Switching equipment built on Marvell switch silicon

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks rlGreenEthPortOperState and rlGreenEthCumulativePowerSaveMeter to confirm Green Ethernet energy savings on a Marvell-silicon-based switch port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Green Ethernet energy-saving state and cumulative power savings
