Description: Marvell Semiconductor Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) MIB providing IEEE 802.3az configuration and statistics objects for Marvell switch ports.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MARVELL-EEE-MIB?

MARVELL-EEE-MIB is a Marvell Semiconductor proprietary module that provides configuration and statistics objects for the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE, IEEE 802.3az) feature on Marvell-based switch silicon. It exposes per-port EEE administrative and operational status, remote-partner EEE capability status, and related LLDP-based EEE negotiation information. Its monitoring focus is port-level hardware/link status: administrators can confirm whether EEE is enabled, supported, and actually negotiated (operational) on each port, including LLDP-advertised local and remote EEE state. It depends on underlying IF-MIB interface indexing and standard LLDP conventions for correlating EEE state to physical ports. It is typically deployed on Marvell-chipset-based Ethernet switches where operators want to verify power-saving link negotiation is functioning correctly on energy-efficient ports. Engineers can download the MARVELL-EEE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MARVELL-EEE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Marvell-chipset-based Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll rlEeePortTable/rlEeePortEntry, checking rlEeePortAdminStatus against rlEeePortOperStatus and rlEeePortSupported to see whether a port that is configured for EEE has actually negotiated the low-power mode. If rlEeePortRemoteStatus shows the link partner is not EEE-capable while rlEeePortAdminStatus is enabled, that would reveal a mismatch preventing the expected energy savings on that port.

What Can Be Monitored

  • EEE admin status per port
  • EEE operational status per port
  • EEE hardware support per port
  • EEE remote link partner status
  • LLDP EEE local/operational status
