What Is LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG?

LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG is a pure OID-registration MIB establishing the enterprise namespace for LeftHand Networks, an iSCSI SAN storage vendor later acquired by HP and rebranded as HP StoreVirtual. It defines no runtime managed objects itself, only the top-level OID arc under which LeftHand's functional storage-management MIBs register their object groups. Because it is a namespace module, it carries no direct hardware/software status data — actual disk, RAID, cluster, and node health objects live in the companion LeftHand functional MIBs that import this registration. Its dependency is structural: every other LeftHand/HP StoreVirtual MIB module builds on this registration arc. It is deployed as a load-time prerequisite wherever LeftHand Networks/HP StoreVirtual iSCSI SAN nodes are SNMP-managed, and administrators typically obtain the LEFTHAND-NETWORKS-GLOBAL-REG MIB file alongside the vendor's functional storage MIBs when setting up monitoring.
